I use mythology and fantasy to explore representations of the body, storytelling and power through performance, costume, psaligraphy (the art of cutting out silhouettes) and video. The characters in my work exist at the intersection of the real and the imagined, wherein multiple narratives appear. I explore ways of recontextualizing the body to understand one’s personal mythology and ritual and the plurality in which these can exist. Currently, my work focuses on the representational body and trickster mythology. I am interested in how this archetype can be used to exhibit gender and form variability.
