Handwoven cotton, wool, 2017, 25"w x 43"h x 2"d
My work concentrates on weaving with different techniques and creating structures out of weavings. I see similarities in woven structures and architectural structures; in fact the first modes of shelter were interwoven plants. It’s not always the literal interpretation: Sometimes it’s how we feel toward certain spaces. Certain elements of structure inspire me and capture my attention, like inserting glass blocks in brick walls, grills above windows, columns, open spaces and in-between spaces.
