Wax and oil paint, 2015-2016, 20"w x 10"h x 3”d
Living in an urban environment, the constant construction and upheaval of our surrounding landscape becomes a part of our existence. Our bodies begin to adapt and function within the landscapes we create. This work intends to demonstrate the collision of landscape and figure, acknowledging the function the hand plays in the creation of a space. The recycling of materials throughout the work embodies the notion of creation from a single source as a vehicle to reproduce. Like topography, the work shows the physicality in the stripping and rebuilding of surface.
