This site-specific painting was painted on the walls of an abandoned space in Zanjan, Iran. Land owned by the government is often taken up by displaced persons; they use this land to build their own living spaces. However, these places are continually damaged by the city in order to vacate them. This work glorifies a broken wall as a sculptural form that uses color-field painting to highlight its deformed architecture. Unclear if/when the painting will be destroyed, it now lives as a landmark that is viewed from the main highway connecting the two cities of Zanjan and Tehran.
